There’s something about this place we call home—the Coal Coast.
Maybe it’s the salty air, the familiar faces at the local café, or the way the bush meets the sea in the most effortless embrace. Whatever it is, it grounds us. And it inspires us. As we step into spring, we’ve been reflecting on what truly makes a home. Is it the hum of conversation around the kitchen bench? The smell of your favourite candle? The view from your backyard, or that old chair passed down through generations?
In this issue, we’re celebrating home in all its forms—from inspired renovations (pg 20) and handcrafted furniture (pg 30) to lush native gardens (pg 36) and creative artworks by cover artist Mikey Freedom. We are big fans of Mikey’s colourful, cut-out style – which has famously graced marketing campaigns, restaurant walls, street-side muralsand, if you’re lucky, in your own home!
Here’s to open doors, warm welcomes, and the little things that make our spaces uniquely ours.
